Eternal Creatures of the Wandering Mind

The last few days, I've really been in the mood to get back into my creature comic strip, and I've just been getting lost in my thoughts, turning shapes and various every day objects and actions into monstrous forms. So, anyway, I think I'm going to try to start doing a daily creature comic too.

Karma, Don't Kick My Ass, But...

It's really quite incredible how one moment you can be feeling awesome and the next, you can realize something and instantly feel like a pile of crap. Cale and I went and split firewood for this old gentleman, he was incredibly nice, slightly awkward, but not too bad. The entire time, he was trying to start conversations, it seemed, while the log splitter was going, or while Cale was cutting stuff with the chainsaw, and it'd make it incredibly difficult to hear what he was saying, so I'd just try to be polite and nod or sometimes ask him to repeat himself.
He ended up paying us quite well for the job we did, which wasn't absolutely terribly difficult, though it was quite an energy expenditure. And I felt awesome for making quite a bit of money, since I haven't really had much luck with that lately. But, then I started wondering about the guy, and his situation, which was pretty tragic, and I just felt absolutely guilty for taking any money from him.
I really hope, if karma exists, it doesn't kick my ass for this, because I already feel terrible about it.

Suspicions

Seriously though, I am incredibly suspicious of this. It's kind of unbelievable for everything to be proposed like that all in the same day. I mean, sure some of the stuff is not definite, and some is a long time coming, but still.
I probably should've played the lottery.

Off With His Balls!

Today, when my mom got home, we noticed an "extra horse" out in the pasture. It turns out that the one stallion on the premises tore hell through the barn. What fun.
I'm both glad and feel like a jerk because I'm extremely allergic to horses, so I wasn't able to help much in the cleaning up of the aftermath. I really did feel bad.

Depress-A-Thon

This isn't really meant to be sad. It's just an observation of an odd dream that I've been having off an on for a while now. Probably doesn't really mean anything in particular, especially since it rarely happens after thinking about my dad. It is, however, weird that there's always the element of trickery involved, as though he were hiding from something.

(500) Days of Blah-mer.

So, after the long wait, and many attempts to try to find someone to go see '(500) Days of Summer' with, I finally went and saw it with Kahlie. I wasn't disappointed by the movie, since I had a feeling it was going to be different from how it was advertised, but, I had hope for a better ending. And by 'better' I mean, more realistic.
But, this isn't a movie critique blog, and I'm probably the least person warranted to do so.
I just ended up feeling kind of down after the movie. It reminded me of a lot of negative things that have happened in my own relationships. But, then about 5 minutes later, I felt fine again.

Excerpts from an Evening

These were just random snippets from the party. It was a sort of spur of the moment party that Nick invited people to. There was a congregation of bros that were all waiting to 'go out' as people for Nick and Colleen's party showed up.
There were a couple 'name every pokemon' contests as well. Good times.

Highbrow

There really was something completely awe-inspiring about watching the spider just tangle the fly in a web. I had never seen a spider do it before. It was kind of beautiful.
When I came back from making my sandwich, the spider and the fly were gone.
